Job summary

Akari Care Limited currently seeks an Assistant Cook who is passionate about elder care and improving residents’ meals and mealtime experiences. The role sits at the heart of the kitchen, creating menus and presenting food to stimulate appetite while supporting the care team.

You will lead by example, coach staff, and adapt to residents' individual dietary needs, ensuring a warm, respectful, and personalised service in a caring environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706-1/2 or equivalent (in progress or achieved).
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Assistant Cook or Cook experience in similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals.
• Create menus, plate up dishes and arrange food trollies to stimulate appetite for residents.
• Provide a personalised service by considering residents' dietary needs, religious and cultural backgrounds.
