Job description

An incremental role, the Assistant Commercial Manager will help shape commercial outcomes by engaging with global sales partners, customers, governments and suppliers while supporting the business in managing commercial risk across day-to-day trading activities.

This is a stimulating role requiring commercial acumen together with sound legal and contractual judgement to advise the business on minimising risk while maximising margin and cash.

Come and join Sepura Ltd at an exciting time of growth and progress your career within this innovative technology company, based in Waterbeach, Cambridge.

Role

This is an excellent opportunity to help build and develop a commercial function that meets the demands of the future as Sepura moves into a new technology space.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will operate at the centre of a broad stakeholder network, balancing competing priorities across the business.

Effective prioritisation and tactful stakeholder management will therefore be critical to success in the role.

This broad and varied role supports the global commercial objectives of the business. It would suit an intellectually curious candidate who is keen to learn and comfortable engaging with new, complex and sometimes obscure knowledge areas to meet the needs of a global organisation.

Given the demands of the role, the successful candidate must be comfortable managing ambiguity and exercising sound judgement where information is incomplete.

Day To Day

Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.

There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business.

Assistant Commercial Manager activities you will be responsible for include:
  • Drafting and reviewing agreements such as Channel Partner contracts, Confidentiality and Teaming agreements and Software Licences
  • Managing a portfolio of partner agreements, including contract renewals, performance obligations and governance throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Conducting contractual onboarding of partners, including full due diligence checks
  • Providing commercial support to in-flight contracts, including managing contract change, monitoring performance of its contractual obligations and management of commercial risk
  • Work as an integral member of the Commercial function to support the winning of new business and management and delivery of current contracts
  • Supporting the Bid function in preparing proposals for submission to customers in conjunction with input from internal subject matter experts
  • Performance of complex assignments requiring cross functional collaboration with limited supervision
  • Supporting Finance to ensure the suitability of requisite performance bonds, bank guarantees, parent company guarantees and trade finance instruments
  • Support the creation of export licence applications
  • Liaise with external counsel where required.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for internal ad hoc matters relating to commercial, contractual and compliance issues, using sound judgement to elevate where appropriate

This job may involve some travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence, valid passport, and own car. Travel expenses will be paid.

This role does require SC clearance.
