Job summary

Bupa in Puttenham is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our care-home kitchen team. You will craft varied, nutritious menus for residents, lead prep and cooking, and help maintain high hygiene standards while keeping residents feeling at home.

You will train and manage kitchen staff, adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, manage orders and deliveries, and support seasonal events with creative, fresh-food options. Flexible shifts and a fully supported induction are provided.

Qualifications

• A passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and varied menus for residents.
• Ability to train and lead kitchen staff in prepping, cooking and serving.
• Knowledge of hygiene practices and HACCP/COSHH guidelines.
• Awareness of dietary needs and preferences for residents.

We are looking for an equally passionate Assistant Chef to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents. You'll help us make health happen by:

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries

• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)

  A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home. Open to new ideas, you'll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards. You'll enjoy communicating with others and you'll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.

  Salary: £14.09 - £15.59 per hour depending on experience
