Job summary

Bupa Puttenham Hill House is seeking an Assistant Chef to join our care home's kitchen, located in Guildford. You will cook with fresh ingredients, design varied menus and respect dietary needs to help residents feel at home.

You will train and manage the kitchen team, ensure COSHH and HACCP compliance, manage orders and deliveries, and assist with special events and seasonal activities to deliver an excellent dining experience.

Qualifications

• A passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and varied menus.
• Experience in a fresh food kitchen with hygiene certificates.
• Ability to deliver an excellent dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Create varied and nutritional menus in line with residents' dietary needs.
• Propose ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience and home-like atmosphere.
• Train and manage the kitchen team in prep, cooking and service.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP, budgets, orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events and seasonal activities as required.

We are looking for an equally passionate Assistant Chef to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home. Open to new ideas, you'll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards. You'll enjoy communicating with others and you'll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.
