Job summary

Mariposa Care Group is seeking a Cook for our Reading care homes. You will prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals for residents, with attention to special dietary needs. You will report to the Head Chef, maintain records and manage food orders.

The role requires experience in a care home kitchen, a Level 2/3 catering qualification (or willingness to train), and good English and numeracy skills. Training and development are provided to support your growth.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals for residents.

Pay Rate: £13.71 per hour, 30 hours per week

More about the role

• As a general guide you will help prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, providing special dietary requirements where necessary for residents.
• Reporting to the Head Chef, you will maintain accurate records and the correct ordering of food supplies.
• You will also check deliveries and ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and the kitchen, dining areas -including equipment-are cleaned to statutory Health and Safety standards.
• Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of working in a care home kitchen, as well as a Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification or equivalent or a commitment to undertake further training and development relevant to the role.
