Job summary

Mariposa & Papillon Care is seeking an Assistant Chef for St Lukes Care Home in Pudsey. You will assist with preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals for residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met and portions are accurately recorded.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will check deliveries, store equipment and maintain cleanliness to Health and Safety standards. A Level 2 or 3 catering qualification or equivalent is preferred, with willingness to undertake training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a care home kitchen is desirable.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Good English and numeracy skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, accommodating dietary requirements for residents.
  • Check deliveries and ensure proper storage of food supplies.
  • Maintain kitchen and dining areas to Health & Safety standards and keep accurate records.

Assistant Chef - St Lukes Care Home

Pay Rate: £13.71 per hour, 30 hours per week

More About The Role

As a general guide you will help prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, providing special dietary requirements where necessary for residents. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will maintain accurate records and the correct ordering of food supplies.

You will also check deliveries and ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and the kitchen, dining areas - including equipment - are cleaned to statutory Health and Safety standards.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of working in a care home kitchen, as well as a Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification or equivalent or a commitment to undertake further training and development relevant to the role.
