Job summary

Healthcare Homes Group is seeking a dedicated cook to join the kitchen team at Romford Grange, a care home in Romford providing residential, nursing and dementia care for 39 residents. You will prepare nutritious meals, manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, and support menu planning while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

28.5 hours per week Monday to Friday - 7am to 5.30pm

If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to join our kitchen team in our lovely care home, Romford Grange, catering for 39 residents.

Romford Grange provides residential, nursing and dementia care to elderly people living in Romford. The staff at the home are very friendly and welcoming and spend a lot of time with the residents making sure they provide good quality, person-centred care every day.

What would a typical day look like?

Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

Work to deliver nutritious and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards

Manage stock control

To assist in leading and motivating a team

Support the Head Chef with writing and planning weekly menus, ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.
