Healthcare Homes Holdings Limited at Meadow House, Swaffham is seeking an Assistant Chef to support the kitchen team. The role is 22.5 hours per week across three days, paid £13.70 per hour, with shifts 8am to 4pm.

You will assist the Head Chef, plan menus, manage stock, contribute to food hygiene standards, and help lead the team while providing care for residents.

Formación

• Experience in working in a professional kitchen.
• Good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards.
• City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.

If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to join our kitchen team in our lovely Nursing/Residential Home,Meadow House, catering for 38 residents.

Meadow House offers residential and nursing care to the Norfolk community. The facility also provides care for young people with disabilities and specialises in caring for individuals with multiple sclerosis. The home is entirely on the ground floor and has a very friendly atmosphere – where everyone is treated like family.

What would a typical day look like?

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Work to deliver nutritious and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
• Manage stock control
• To assist in leading and motivating a team
• Support the Head Chef with writing and planning weekly menus, ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.
