Job Description

Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef at Ashley Park Care Home, Bupa. CQC rating: Good. Salary: £28,267 – £31,387 depending on experience.

Perm Contract – 40 hours per week. 4 x 8am – 6pm, alternate weekends.

You will help us make health happen by preparing meals in line with residents’ dietary needs, managing the kitchen team, and supporting special events.

Key Responsibilities

• Using passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus aligned with residents’ dietary needs.
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping residents feel at home.
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prep, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies, budgets, and managing orders and deliveries.
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays as required.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. Open to new ideas, you will have an innovative approach to cooking while always adhering to high standards. You enjoy communicating with others and cherish moments with residents.
