Job summary

Bupa's Waverley Grange Care Home in Farnham is hiring an Assistant Chef / 2nd Chef to support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals for residents. This permanent, full-time role offers a welcoming work environment and opportunities to lead portions of the kitchen operation.

You will prepare nutritious menus, train staff, and ensure compliance with food safety standards while contributing to a warm, home-like dining experience for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking meals for residents.
• Ability to manage kitchen tasks and staff.
• Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create varied and nutritious menus for residents.
• Lead and train kitchen staff in prep, cooking and service.
• Adhere to COSHH/HACCP and budgets; manage orders/deliveries.
• Plan and cater for events and seasonal activities.
• Support and uphold high standards of dining experience for residents.

Salary : £14.09 - £15.59 per hour depending on qualifications & experience.

Perm contract

Shift - 7:10 am - 5:30pm (50 min unpaid break) alternate weekends

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Using your passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)
