Job summary

TAGGED RESOURCES in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to support the delivery and development of a successful product category. You will work closely with the buying, merchandising, design and supply teams to help with range building, product development, pricing and trade activity.

The role requires strong attention to detail, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple product ranges, suppliers and deadlines simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying, merchandising or category management within retail.
• Strong commercial awareness with pricing and market dynamics.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple ranges with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Category Manager and buying team with range building.
• Maintain range plans with product, pricing, supplier and milestones.
• Develop ranges with UK and FOB suppliers.
• Brief designers on product and packaging requirements.
• Track development range plans and price points.
• Coordinate development samples through to sign-off.
• Conduct regular competitive shopping and benchmarking.
• Assist with pricing actions and weekly trade activity.
• Monitor pricing across UK and FOB lines for accuracy.
• Support actions such as price drops and end-of-line activity.
• Keep systems and range planning tools up to date.
• Track lead times and risks to shipment dates.
• Collaborate with UK and FOB teams.
• Follow up on samples, approvals and production milestones.
