Unknown is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support procurement for civil engineering and groundworks projects based in Essex. You will work closely with buying and commercial teams to secure materials and services, ensuring timely delivery and price competitiveness.

The role requires experience in buying or procurement, strong communication and IT skills, and a drive to develop within a busy civil engineering environment. Salary up to £30k plus package.

Assistant Buyer - Leading Civil Engineering Contractor

My Client are a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Essex, specialising in residential developments, infrastructure and commercial projects across East Anglia and the South East. The company works with leading housebuilders and other clients, delivering a comprehensive range of services including groundworks, drainage, roads, substructures and infrastructure packages, with a strong focus on quality, safety and reliable project delivery.

Duties

Working closely with the buying and commercial teams, you will assist with the procurement of materials, plant and services for a range of civil engineering and groundworks projects. Responsibilities will include obtaining quotations, raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring deliveries and ensuring materials are available to meet project requirement
