Job summary
Matalan is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Branded Buyer with planning, pricing and promotional administration across product ranges. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure best range, price and delivery timing, while coordinating with Marketing and Ecommerce teams to optimise launches and online visibility.
The role emphasises accuracy, timely communications, and the ability to manage multiple ranges with competing priorities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or similar
- Commercial awareness of value fashion and branded customers
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities
- Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to present and advocate ranges to senior buyers
Responsibilities
- Support Branded Buyer in planning, pricing and promotions
- Own End-to-End range ownership and present ranges for sign-off
- Coordinate supplier onboarding and new trading initiatives
- Prepare trade information using BI and e-commerce reports
- Collaborate with Marketing and Ecommerce to optimise launches and VM
