About the role

We are recruiting a Part-Time Assistant Buyer to join our Giftwrap team within the Home department at Tesco. As a leading multinational retailer, Tesco offers a dynamic environment where you will work alongside a Buying Manager to plan and deliver profitable ranges that meet customer needs.

This position is ideal for an Assistant Buyer seeking part-time hours, 3-4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of a long-term, customer-led category plan to enhance loyalty.
• Conduct store and website visits, review customer insights and trends to inform product and range decisions.
• Assist in building and sourcing ranges based on customer and market insights, and support product innovation.
• Negotiate with suppliers with managerial support to improve trading conditions sustainably.
• Contribute to the department's trade, promotions, marketing, and events plans to exceed KPIs and increase footfall.
• Coordinate with Tesco Business Services and Supply Chain to ensure timely product availability across channels.
• Work with suppliers and the quality team to maintain product standards.
• Manage commercial income, ensure accurate invoicing, and handle over-charges, under-charges, and aged debt weekly.
• Oversee artwork and POS development and management.
• Adhere to Tesco policies, storage, and handover protocols, completing all required training.
• Manage GHS setup.
