We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our team within Core Stationery. You will work alongside the Merchandise Planning Manager to deliver and maximize the sales and profitability of the Core Stationery department. You will collaborate with the Buying team to build and deliver great ranges for customers.

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our Core Stationery team. Your responsibilities will include working with the Merchandise Planning Manager to enhance sales and profitability, and collaborating with the Buying team to develop appealing product ranges.

You will be responsible for

• Assisting in the departmental range building process, including data analysis for strategy packs and range sign-offs to meet sales, stock, and profit targets.
• Contributing to strategy and trade meetings with data-driven insights.
• Ensuring CRST systems accurately reflect the range build for launch, aligned with the critical path.
• Supporting the department range launch and post-launch reviews.
• Participating in promotion and events trade planning, managing nominations within budget.
• Updating and maintaining ranging and merchandising systems and trackers.
• Administering pricing within specified timelines, adhering to policy.
• Managing the exit of lines from the business, escalating impacts on KPIs.
• Forecasting using departmental WSSI, highlighting risks and opportunities, and managing KPIs versus budget.
• Preparing Monday Trade Analysis reports and following up on actions.
• Reviewing performance against KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities, and proposing actions.
• Acting in accordance with our Business Code of Conduct, demonstrating integrity and due diligence.

You will need

• Experience in report preparation.
• Range building skills.
• Data analysis and numeracy skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in range and trade planning.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
