Job summary

Cotton Traders is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our Menswear Buying team. You will own key buying responsibilities, work closely with the Buyer and wider team to deliver sales, stock and margin targets, and help shape exciting product ranges.

The role offers genuine scope to develop your skills, build relationships with suppliers, lead critical path meetings, and support product development and price negotiation while staying commercially aware of the market.

Qualifications

• Experience in Menswear buying.
• Strong commercial awareness and energy.
• Ability to identify future fashion trends.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with suppliers and Buying, Merchandising and Garment Technology teams.
• Engage with Creative and Ecommerce teams to ensure productive relationships.
• Lead critical path meetings within the team, presenting to the Buyer and Buying Manager, and highlight potential issues.
• Assist the Buyer with product development and price negotiation.
• Develop a range with the Buyer to attract the target customer with best price and quality.
• Analyse sales and performance for direct and retail to enable timely trade reactions.
• Handle day-to-day administration to assist the Buyer and ensure efficient buying of product.
• Be commercially aware of competitors and their season product and price changes.
• Keep on top of key diary dates to ensure deadlines are met.
