Atlas Copco Group seeks an Assistant Business Controller to support four business lines and a growing acquisitions portfolio from its Warrington office. You will maintain scorecards, develop financial reports, and ensure robust internal controls while liaising with auditors and internal teams.

The role emphasizes post-deal integration and accurate balance sheet reviews. You will drive acquisition-related activities, transition legacy standards to Group compliance, and support SAP setup and data

Qualifications

• Five years of hands-on financial experience with strong accounting knowledge.
• Solid working knowledge of SAP.
• Experience in a service-based organization is desirable.
• Experience with acquisition accounting and post-deal integration is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scorecards and develop financial reports for strategic decisions.
• Review and improve internal control processes.
• Assist in compiling Group and statutory financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Liaise with internal teams to provide seamless financial support.
• Safeguard company assets, including stock and WIP controls.
• Support acquisition and integration activities (transition to Group standards, SAP setup, data extraction, balance reconciliation, reporting improvements).

Your role

As an Assistant Business Controller, your mission is to play a key role in supporting the Business Controller across four dynamic business lines and a growing portfolio of acquisitions.

You will

• Maintain scorecards and develop financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Review, monitor, and improve internal control processes.
• Assist in compiling and reviewing Group and Statutory financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g, Business Services) to ensure seamless financial support.
• Safeguard company assets, with a focus on:
• Stock: Ensure procedures are followed, stock checks are regular, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• WIP: Maintain control and validation of work-in-progress balances.

• Support acquisition and integration activities:
• Transition legacy accounting standards to Group compliance.
• Assist with SAP setup and data extraction for new acquisitions.
• Reconcile system balances and conduct balance sheet reviews.
• Develop and implement improved reporting processes pre-integration.
• Collaborate on integration projects and data analysis.

Experience & Qualifications

You need to be either fully qualified in Finance or Accounting, or nearing completion of a relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivilant degree)

• Miniumum 5 years of hands-on financial experience with strong accounting knowledge.
• Solid Working knowledge of SAP.
• Experience in a service-based organization is highly desirable.
• Experience with acquisition accounting and post-deal integration is an advantage.

Job location

This role will be based at the Warrington office, UK.

We are looking for Candidates to be able to travel to the Warrington office on a regular day-to-day basis as this role is onsite.
