Assistant Bursar / Financial Accountant (Maternity cover)

We have a fantastic maternity cover role for an Assistant Bursar / Financial Accountant within the education sector. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will be primarily responsible for managing finances related to billing, funding, sales, payroll, and banking. This is a full-time, on-site position based in South Oxfordshire, working five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Billing invoices to parents and processing payments
• Maintaining a termly funding report for eligible pupils and preparing funding calculations
• Processing and invoicing non-fee sales
• Chasing outstanding debts
• Processing daily bank receipts and payments
• Performing monthly bank reconciliations across all bank accounts, including petty cash
• Preparing and processing monthly payroll adjustments (e.g., overtime, clubs, unpaid leave)
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts regularly

Location

Based in South Oxford, this is a full-time role with on-site work five days a week and free parking.
