Job summary

A leading consultancy in the built environment sector is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor in Birmingham. The role involves assisting the Director on multiple projects, ensuring client value through various responsibilities including financial control, communication, and team support. This permanent position requires a minimum of one year’s experience and a BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of practical experience in a PQS practice.
  • Broad sector knowledge is beneficial, with detailed experience in affordable housing essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on Building Pathology and Dilapidations.
  • Assist with Energy Efficiency and Insulation techniques.
  • Support pre-contract commercial management including procurement strategies, cost estimates, and tender document preparation.
  • Assist in financial control of projects through to completion.
