Job summary

Huws Gray Wellington is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to oversee daily branch operations and support the Branch Manager in delivering high standards of service. You will drive customer satisfaction, safety, and branch performance on a visible, hands-on basis.

The role emphasizes mentoring teammates, maintaining compliant procedures, and building strong customer relationships. Flexible working may be discussed during interview processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a builders’ merchant or a supervisory role is an advantage, but it’s not essential - training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch
• Acting as the main point of contact and leading the branch when the Branch Manager is away
• Leading by example to deliver high standards of customer service
• Making sure branch procedures, systems, and ways of working are followed
• Being a visible role model for health, safety, and compliance
• Supporting, coaching, and motivating colleagues
• Helping build strong customer relationships and resolving issues professionally
• Taking practical action to support branch performance, efficiency, and profitability
