Description
Alternative Heat is a leading provider of Biomass Boiler Systems and Commercial Energy Solutions, and we offer a full Operation and Reactive Maintenance packages for all the systems we provide. We currently have a team of Service and Maintenance Engineers covering our Biomass Boiler Installations throughout the UK and we are looking to expand our Scottish Highlands Team via the recruitment of a Field Based Biomass Maintenance Technician.

Responsible to | Service & Maintenance Manager
We are looking to appoint a full time, Field Based Assistant Biomass Maintenance Technician to assist with the daily operational requirements of the existing team in place. Any relevant experience will be beneficial – however full product specific training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time position with working hours from 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks,
  • Visually inspect heating plant on a Bi-Monthly basis whilst on site carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks
  • Assist our engineers in carrying out Biannual Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks such as Boiler Servicing, Fuel Store Cleaning etc.
  • Ensure Fuel Stores and Energy Centre’s are kept clean, tidy and free from dust or pellet spillages
  • Record all site visits on Electronic Workflow Management Package using Tablet Device
  • Attend sites throughout the Highlands to carry out the removal of Ash on Biomass boilers (Full training will be given)

Essential Criteria:
  • Clean Driving License
  • Previous experience in a relevant job role.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Ability to work alone for long periods.
  • Logical and sensible approach to daily tasks.
  • Good interpersonal Skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills
Desirable Criteria:
  • Flexible and practical approach to daily tasks.
  • Ability to cope with the reactive nature of the role.
  • Previous Experience in Commercial M&E Trade.
  • A practical “hands on’’ approach to daily tasks
