Job description

Post Title: Assistant Technician/Technician/Senior Technician (Asset Management)

Location: Inverness

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £27,554 - £41,714 p.a.

Salary Details:

  • Assistant Technician (HNC, working towards EngTech): starting salary HC05 £27,554 - £30,175 p.a.
  • Technician (HNC and/or EngTech plus 5 years experience): starting salary HC06 £30,266 - £33,579 p.a.
  • Senior Technician (EngTech plus 7 years experience): starting salary HC07 £34,034 - £38,056 p.a.
  • Senior Technician (EngTech plus 12 years experience): starting salary HC08 £38,474 - £41,714 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose:

  • To assist in the redesign of the Service.
  • To create sustainable and achievable processes for the Roads Service, covering all aspects, including Road Construction Consent.
  • Assist in implementing changes relating to policies, procedures, processes, and software.
  • To assist in producing a strategy for the management of the Highland Council’s adopted road network.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in a Civil or Structural Engineering related course
  • Working towards (Assistant level) or gained (Technician/Senior Technician level)
  • Professional qualification at IEng (ICE) or equivalent.
  • Valid driving licence. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
