Soho House invites applications for an Assistant Bar Manager to support the Bar Manager in daily operations of the club’s bar areas, delivering premium beverage service and ensuring licensing, health and safety compliance. You’ll contribute to the commercial and creative goals of the business and uphold the highest standards of guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Staff Management: support Bar Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising bar staff.
• Oversee day-to-day bar operations, opening/closing routines, health and safety compliance.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and manage guest inquiries promptly.
• Manage bar inventory, stock levels, and waste reduction.
• Collaborate on menu development and beverage pricing with the team.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial data analysis for the bar.
• Coordinate training sessions to develop staff skills and knowledge.
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Key duties…

• Assisting in Staff Management: Support the Bar Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising bar staff. Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.
• Operational Oversight: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas.
• Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service. Interact with guests, handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly and effectively, and ensure that all guests have a positive experience.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing bar inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and conducting regular inventory counts. Implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
• Menu Development and Pricing: Collaborate with the Bar Manager and other team members to develop and update the bar menu, including selecting and pricing beverages and creating signature cocktails. Ensure that menu offerings are aligned with customer preferences and industry trends.
• Financial Management: Support the Bar Manager in monitoring bar revenue, expenses, and profitability. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
• Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and ongoing education programs for bar staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of products, service standards, and safety procedures.
• Maintaining Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the bar and access to high‑quality products and services.

• Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
