Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Assistant Audit Manager to join its audit team. The role involves delivering high-quality audit services to a varied client portfolio, leading audit assignments and working closely with senior management.

You will supervise and develop junior staff, manage client relationships and ensure audits are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous audit experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards.
  • Experience leading audit assignments and handling complex areas.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop junior team members.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and interest in business development.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Assistant Audit Manager Overview
  • Leading audit fieldwork on-site and remotely across a varied client portfolio.
  • Reviewing financial statements, accounting records and audit documentation.
  • Identifying key audit risks and completing appropriate testing.
  • Handling complex audit areas and reviewing working papers.
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing audit seniors and junior staff.
  • Monitoring workloads, deadlines, budgets and team performance.
  • Ensuring audit files meet internal quality and regulatory standards.
  • Acting as a key client contact and managing expectations throughout assignments.
  • Assisting with audit reports, management letters and financial statements.
  • Escalating significant issues to senior management or the RI.
  • Supporting process improvements and new systems or technologies.
  • Contributing to team resource planning, training and development.
  • Supporting business development, networking and professional relationships.

Assistant Audit Manager Salary & Benefits
  • £45,000 - £55,000 salary, dependent upon experience.
