Job summary

SABIC is seeking an Assistant Asset Engineer to plan and specify maintenance work in line with engineering standards and SABIC workflow processes.

You will provide engineering expertise, diagnose equipment issues, and optimise maintenance interventions while ensuring planning and resourcing are sufficient for timely delivery of work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP, DRS, Sabic Inspection Database and other computer-based systems; good IT literacy.
• Broad background in maintenance and engineering; experience on COMAH-registered plants; possibly as technician or FLM; working towards Incorporated Engineer status.
• Strong decision-making and excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
• Understanding of Rotating Machinery and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise, diagnose equipment malfunction and identify appropriate actions to mitigate EHSS & Production risks.
• Identify and optimise maintenance interventions and ensure sufficient time for planning and resourcing of work; deliver interventions effectively.
• Provide detailed scope and specification with supporting documentation for cost-effective delivery by work teams.
• Collate and analyse equipment reliability and maintenance expenditure data to identify improvement opportunities.

The Assistant Asset Engineer will plan and specify maintenance work, in accordance with engineering standards and SABIC workflow processes.

How You Can Be the Impact

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including but not limited to:

• Provide engineering expertise, diagnose equipment malfunction and identify appropriate actions, in order that EHSS & Production risks are effectively mitigated.
• Identify and optimise maintenance interventions and ensure that sufficient time is available for planning and resourcing of work, in order that such interventions are delivered optimally.
• Provide detailed scope and specification including supporting documentation where appropriate, in order to allow the work delivery teams to provide competent cost-effective delivery of the work.
• Collate and analyse equipment reliability and maintenance expenditure data in order to help identify improvement opportunities.

What Matters to SABIC:

The successful candidate will possess or be willing to obtain the following attributes:

• Knowledge of SAP, DRS, Sabic Inspection Database and other computer-based systems and therefore a good level of IT literacy is required.
• Broad background in maintenance and engineering, with prior experience working on COMAH-registered plants, possibly as a technician or FLM and ideally hold a HNC or equivalent qualification and be working towards Incorporated Engineer status with an appropriate Professional Engineering Institution. Extensive experience in a similar role and environment will also be considered.
• Sound decision-making and excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, as many of the job accountabilities are achieved through the influencing of others.
• A sound understanding of Rotating Machinery and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations would be beneficial.
