Job summary

Eaton is recruiting an Assistant Accountant in Derby to support bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and month-end processes. The role offers full study support and exposure to accounting across financial reporting, AR, and operations.

The ideal candidate will have finance experience, be proficient in Excel, and show strong organisational and learning drive for progression toward qualification.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified/studying or finance graduate.
• Previous finance or accounts experience.
• Proficient with Excel and financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Proactive with a desire to develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain cash book postings in D365.
• Assist with VAT returns and national statistics reporting.
• Maintain trial balance and update supporting schedules.
• Prepare and post journals including accruals and depreciation.
• Produce and issue sales invoices and credit notes; maintain sales ledger.
• Chase overdue debt; provide weekly debtor cash updates.
• Support month-end close and produce period reports.
