Job summary

Crane Building Services & Utilities seeks an Assistant Accountant to join the Ipswich finance team. You will support banking, VAT returns, fixed assets, and month-end processes across three sites, while assisting with audits and tax packs.

Ideal candidates will have AAT or equivalent, strong Excel, ERP experience (QAD advantageous), and familiarity with SOX/GAAP frameworks. Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent qualification or proven by experience.
• Strong MS Excel skills required.
• ERP experience; QAD knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SOX/US GAAP/UK GAAP is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own daily banking activities and manage multi-currency UK cash pool.
• Process supplier payments and monthly payments.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and monthly payments.
• Post journals and conduct month-end reconciliations.
• Manage fixed assets across three sites and depreciation.
• Assist with SOX compliance and audit information preparation.
• Enter leases into CoStar and reconcile balance sheets and P&L.
