Job summary

Workforce Recruitment and Training in Stroud is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a progressive accountancy practice. You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients, developing technical knowledge and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Three years' hands-on accounting experience.
• Previous accountancy practice experience would be advantageous.
• AAT or ACCA studies, part-qualified status or strong QBE experience.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and year-end processes.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Producing management reports and supporting financial information.
• Preparing VAT returns, bank reconciliations and routine accounting schedules.
• Assisting with year-end accounts preparation, including working papers and lead schedules.
• Supporting statutory accounts and tax return preparation using TaxCalc.
• Developing strong client relationships through regular telephone, email and face-to-face communication.
• Getting involved in cash flow forecasting and other ad hoc client assignments.
