Assistant Accountant Apprentice

Starting Salary: £12,000 Per Annum

Swarm Group is working with Knight Accountancy Ltd in their search for a Level 3 Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in accounting and learning from experienced professionals.

About Knight Accountancy Ltd

Knight Accountancy Ltd is a modern and client-focused accountancy practice based in Carleton Rode, Norfolk. Founded in 2019, the practice brings over 11 years of industry experience and specialises in working with sole traders and limited company owners who are serious about growing their businesses. As AAT-licensed accountants, they provide a full range of accounting and tax services with a personal, approachable style.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage client invoicing, account records and payroll processing
  • Perform bookkeeping duties using Hubdoc, Xero (including bank reconciliations) and VAT returns
  • Prepare self assessment tax returns for individuals
  • Prepare accounts for sole traders and Limited Companies
  • Support client onboarding, communications and relationship management via email, phone and occasional face-to-face meetings
  • Contribute to improving internal systems and processes for greater efficiency
  • Ensure timely completion of all tasks and compliance with deadlines
  • Handle incoming calls and direct or record messages as needed
  • Provide general administrative and marketing support
Working Week

Core working hours will be 30 hours per week from 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. This role is office-based.

Training Information

Training will be with Swarm Training, a national apprenticeship provider in the UK. The successful candidate will work towards a Level 3 Assistant Accountant qualification, which takes 15-18 months to complete. The apprentice must complete a minimum of 6 hours per week during working hours, with monthly training sessions conducted by a tutor, with tasks assigned to be completed during those hours.
