Job summary

Ipsen Biopharm Ltd in Wrexham is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. You will handle journals, reconciliations, and month-end close, contributing to accurate financial reporting in a busy shared services environment.

The role offers hybrid working, with opportunities to develop accounting skills within a global biopharma group and support audit processes and continuous improvements. Candidates with AAT qualification or studying toward it, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a similar role ideally from a shared services environment.
  • AAT qualification or part-qualification, or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification is preferred.
  • Yellow belt certified or experience with continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting entries in line with month-end deadlines.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Support month-end close activities, financial reporting and account analysis across assigned entities.
  • Prepare reporting schedules and working papers for management, statutory and group reporting requirements.
  • Assist with audit requests, ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Contribute to process improvements, operational excellence initiatives and continuous enhancement of finance processes.
