Assistant Accountant – Worksop – Up to £28,200 + Hybrid Working

Our Worksop-based client has a minimum 9-month contract role for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. This role primarily supports the Finance Manager/Management Accountant in completing all monthly reconciliations. It is suitable for someone with experience or a graduate looking to start their career in an exciting business. This is a fantastic opportunity for development within a global, fast-paced company. Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:

• Producing monthly accounts for overhead cost centres
• Assisting in the preparation of cost centre budgets and forecasts
• Reconciling and processing prepayments, accruals, and standard charges
• Managing company-paid credit cards
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Completing national statistics returns
• Overseeing bank account reconciliations
• Preparing year-end schedules for tax packs monthly
• Reconciling PSA and submitting to HMRC
• Reconciling intercompany accounts monthly
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns
• Processing intercompany journals
• Replenishing and reconciling petty cash

Required Skills & Experience:

• Finance degree graduate, AAT qualified, or studying towards CIMA/ACCA
• Understanding of accounting systems and ledgers (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage workload and adapt
• Strong problem-solving skills
