Job summary

Sewell Wallis Ltd are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a growing vehicle servicing business near Nottingham. You will be studying for or qualified with AAT and have experience in an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant role with knowledge of management accounts and month-end close, plus payroll understanding.

The role sits in a small social finance team and offers study support and development potential in a busy established team environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally AAT qualified, though not essential.
• At least 3 years working in an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
• Experience with payroll
• Experience with management accounts and month-end close
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP would be beneficial
• Experience with Commercial vehicle rental would be useful

Responsibilities

• Complete general ledger and cashbook postings, perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple companies, manage intercompany transactions, and support financial analysis.
• Maintain sales and chassis stock balance sheet accounts, manage expenses and credit card transactions, and process financial entries.
• Assist with the existing payroll function and provide holiday cover when required.
• Work alongside purchase clerks to reconcile supplier statements, maintain an accurate purchase ledger, and process intercompany journals.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and system enhancements, maximising the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to improve processes and efficiency.
• Provide holiday cover across the finance team, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, and assist the Management Accountant and Financial Controller with various finance projects.

Sewell Wallis are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a growing vehicle servicing business near Nottingham.

You’ll be studying for or qualified with AAT and have experience working in a similar role, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant, with an understanding of assisting with Management Accounts and month-end, alongside payroll understanding.

This role sits within a small social finance team of three; the company supports and promotes continued development, giving you the opportunity for study support if desired. This is a great opportunity for someone to step into a well-established and busy team.

What will you be doing?
