Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 qualification in an administrative or finance-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting role within a private-sector organisation.
• Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across locations and teams.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payments.
• Maintain daily bank reconciliations and banking administration.
• Reconcile and settle intercompany balances.
• Prepare VAT, tax, Intrastat, and government statistics reporting.
• Prepare month-end reports, accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support audits and year-end reporting.
• Support stock control activities and stock revaluations.

Germains Seed Technology, a global leader in seed technology, is seeking a talented professional to join our team. As our next Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our European business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and partnering with stakeholders across multiple locations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative international environment and wants to contribute to continuous improvement projects while developing their career within a global organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payment processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintaining daily bank reconciliations and managing banking administration activities.
• Reconciling and settling intercompany balances.
• Preparing VAT (BTW), tax, Intrastat, and government statistical reporting.
• Preparing month-end reports, accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting internal and external audits and preparing year-end reporting information.
• Supporting stock control activities, stock reconciliations, and stock revaluation processes.

What you’ll bring:
