Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business in Andover, Hampshire. This newly created role offers progression within a busy finance function and a stable environment.

You will support AP/AR, assist with VAT and payroll, and help streamline transactional workflows while developing in a collaborative team. Salary is experience-dependent with study support provided.

Qualifications

• Actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
• Previous experience in a similar level role.
• Able to manage multiple priorities accurately and on time.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills and process improvement focus.
• Works effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Collaborates well across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable, receivable and supplier management processes.
• Assist with the preparation of VAT, corporation tax and other statutory returns.
• Help improve finance systems and streamline transactional workflows.
• Assist with payroll processing, including data collation and benefits administration.
• Respond to internal finance queries and provide day-to-day support to the team.
