Bellway PLC seeks an experienced finance professional in Nottingham to manage ledger processing, costing and management reporting within a manufacturing context. The role emphasizes standard costing, ERP/MRP interfacing and strong Excel skills to drive cost control and accurate reporting.
The successful candidate will support CIS & VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and asset tracking, while collaborating with non-financial managers to uphold internal controls and governance in a busy
ledger processing and reconciliation. Reviewing Standard Costing activities, Recoveries and Inventory movements including variance analysis. Credit control (minimal as all inter company transactions). Assist with the CIS & VAT returns. Assist in the monthly preparation of Trial Balance and management accounts. Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and backup documentation. Assist with cost control and KPI reporting. Assist with management of fixed assets and capital expenditure tracking. Work with non-financial managers to drive control and continuous improvement. Ensure all activities and carried out in line with company policies and procedures. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Divisional and Group Finance Management Teams. The above list of accountabilities are not exclusive or exhaustive. educational background, possibly studying towards an Accountancy Qualification Previous accounting experience - essential Experience in manufacturing environment with standard costing Good IT skills and an ability to interrogate and develop ERP/MRP system High skill level in Microsoft Excel Be methodical and with a diligent approach to working Have good written and verbal communication skills, especially in liaison with non-financial managers Be organised to be able to cope with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast moving manufacturing environment and with a high commitment to quality standards. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience a strong advantage Skills and Aptitude Excellent administration and organisation skills Analysis, numerical and report writing skills Strong people management and time management Strong communication, listening and problem solving Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Excellent attention to detail Ability to work on own as well as part of a team Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to and develop new systems.
