Are you detail-oriented, organised, and ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our supportive team at Vertu Peugeot in Northampton and Oxford.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive basic salary of up to £30,000, depending on your experience, along with a great range of benefits.

About the Role:

You’ll work closely with our Accountant to support the wider management team with vital information that helps drive smart business decisions. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in a wide range of finance tasks, including:

• Creating reports and spreadsheets
• Assisting with management accounts
• Managing payroll
• Forecasting and estimates
• Reconciling accounts (including balance sheets and manufacturer bonuses)
• Managing cash flow
• Handling accruals and prepayments
• Supporting credit control processes

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in an accounting role (ideally as an Assistant Accountant)
• Enjoys working with data and numbers
• Pays close attention to detail
• Is confident using Excel and other Microsoft tools
• Communicates clearly and works well with both finance and non-finance colleagues

Experience in the motor trade or with Kerridge systems is a bonus, but not essential. We value your skills, mindset, and willingness to learn above formal qualifications.
