Job summary

CMC Consulting Ltd is seeking a part-qualified accountant to join a growing finance team in Milton Keynes. You will support financial reporting and day-to-day operations across AP, AR, Cash & Banking, and month-end tasks, with study support for your ongoing qualification.

Key duties include posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and assisting with audits. You should have ACCA/CIMA/ACA-equivalent study status, strong Excel skills, and a proactive, detail-focused

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant actively studying (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).
• Experience as Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals and reconcile balance sheets.
• Support month-end close and year-end processes.
• Maintain records for internal and external audits.
• Assist with month-end reporting and cash flow monitoring.
• Identify process improvements in finance systems and workflows.

Job description

A great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join a growing finance team during a significant period of organisational development. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll support accurate financial reporting and day-to-day operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash & Banking, and month-end accounting — with study support provided for your ongoing qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and support month-end/year-end close
• Maintain accurate records and support internal/external audit requirements
• Identify and support improvements to finance processes and systems
• Assist with month end reporting
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and support cash flow monitoring

About You

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), actively studying
• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems
• Organised, detail-oriented and proactive, with good communication skills
