Job summary

The One Group in Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Accountant to help with month-end, general ledger accounting and financial reporting. You will focus on GL postings, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting while pursuing CIMA/ACCA progression.

Hybrid working is offered, with about 50% office time. The role pays up to £35,000 and includes private medical and life insurance, plus up to 40 days holiday and ongoing study support to advance your qualification.

Are you currently studying CIMA or ACCA and looking for a role that will give you strong exposure to month-end, general ledger accounting and financial reporting?

I'm recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a well-established business in Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is actively studying CIMA or ACCA and progressing well through their qualification, with practical accounting experience and a desire to continue developing within a busy, professional finance environment.

You'll be responsible for a range of accounting and reporting activities, including:

• Posting general ledger journals and supporting period-end close
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Fixed asset accounting
• Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Supporting accurate and timely financial reporting
• Working with other finance teams and the wider business to resolve queries

To be considered, you will need to be:

• Actively studying CIMA or ACCA and progressing well with your studies
• Experienced within an accounting role with exposure to general ledger and month-end processes
• Comfortable posting journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Confident using Excel and finance/ERP systems
• Able to manage your own workload and work to tight deadlines
• Analytical, organised and comfortable investigating and resolving discrepancies
• A confident communicator who can work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Keen to develop your accounting career and continue progressing professionally
