MCS Group is seeking a commercially minded Assistant Accountant for a Ballymena-based role. The position offers a salary of £30,000–£38,000, study support, private medical insurance, and 32 days’ holidays, with full end-to-end accounting exposure and training.

The successful candidate will assist with monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, ledgers, cash forecasting, VAT returns, and payroll support where needed.

Qualificações

• Ability to prioritise tasks.
• Part-qualified or accounts technician desirable.

• Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process purchase/sales ledger invoices.
• Conduct weekly cash reporting, cash forecasting, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns.
• Assist in payroll for a portion of the organisation.

The Role

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process the purchase/sales ledger invoices for the organisation.
• Conducting weekly cash reporting, cash forecasting, and bank reconciliations.
• Preparing monthly VAT returns.
• Assist in the payroll for a part of the organisation.

The Person

The successful Assistant Accountant will meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Accountancy software experience.
• Ability to prioritise tasks.
• Being part-qualified or accounts technician qualified is desirable.
