Working arrangements: At least 1 day a week in the London office

Working hours: Full-time 9 am to 6 pm

THE ROLE

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant for the London office to support the Finance Manager and production in maximizing the profitability and financial targets of the immersive divisions, as well as helping oversee improvements in the finance function.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance function with a focus on accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Part Qualified or AAT Qualified accountant
  • Experience in accounts payable and project-based accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in SAP by Design and Microsoft Excel
  • VFX/Film Production experience is an advantage
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Support
  • Support the Production Manager and Coordinators in London with financial queries and reporting
  • Produce and maintain project reports to assist with cash flow and profitability
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support future growth
Production Accounting
  • Process multi-currency bank statements into SAP
  • Review and reconcile supplier invoices and payments
  • Monitor AP and AR ledgers, resolve queries, and maintain relationships
  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Responsible for monthly revenue recognition and labor allocation to projects
  • Support financial reporting and management accounts preparation
  • Assist with VAT returns and ensure tax compliance
  • Provide show close reports and analysis versus bidding assumptions
Cash Management
  • Manage and collect the company's cash flow
  • Oversee project payment schedules, ensuring sufficient cash flow and supporting renegotiations with clients
  • Prepare short-term and long-term cash forecasts
Payroll
  • Process monthly payroll and ensure timely payments
  • Review journal postings related to payroll
  • Oversee year-end processes like P60s, P11Ds, and P14s
  • Ensure timely payment of PAYE/NIC/Levy contributions
  • Process pensions and complete compliance reports
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Negotiate financing as needed
  • Assist with annual audits
  • Support the Finance Manager with budgeting
  • Support transition of new divisions onto the group banking system
  • Provide ad hoc support for the Accounts Assistant and other projects
