Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience with a relevant degree or diploma.
  • Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of Sage Intacct is advantageous.

Job description

Fujax is a global commodities trading company based in Europe, with operations in Geneva, London, Cape Town, Kenya, and Hong Kong. We trade copper, zinc, iron ore, manganese ore, and ferro manganese originating from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, and Madagascar. Our customer base spans China, India, and Europe. We are seeking an Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant to join our London team.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the processing and accurate allocation of invoices, including bank reconciliations and maintenance of bank accounts. Role Responsibilities
  • Monitor the shared accounting mailbox
  • Load and assign supplier invoices on Docusign for approval
  • E-file allocated invoices into correct folders
  • Follow up with relevant persons on invoice allocations
  • Review allocated invoices for accuracy
  • Send weekly reports requesting allocation of unallocated invoices
  • Follow up on long-outstanding unallocated invoices
  • Maintain a master document listing all supplier and customer invoices
  • Manage supplier relationships, including communication regarding invoice corrections, payment expectations, and follow-up of outstanding items
  • Maintain up-to-date AP aging and communicate payable invoices with Treasury
  • Assist with month-end processing, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Upload invoices to banking system for payment release
  • Send proof of payments to suppliers
  • Assist with audit processes
  • Support the preparation of management accounts
  • Perform ad hoc projects and administrative tasks
Candidate Profile
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience with a relevant degree or specialized diploma
  • Experience or knowledge of the mining sector is advantageous but not essential
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct
