Job summary

William Wilson in Aberdeen is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support 23 branches across Scotland and join a busy finance team. You will assist the Management Accountant with reporting, processing payments, and maintaining ledgers in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle bank reconciliations, petty cash, and daily payments, with a 40-hour week (Mon-Thu 08:00–16:30). The role offers a competitive salary plus bonus and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Support 23 William Wilson branches across Scotland.
• Assist the Management Accountant & Finance Manager with weekly, monthly & ad-hoc reporting requirements.
• Process branch banking and resolve resulting queries.
• Code & process direct debits, standing orders & online payments.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Manage petty cash.
• Record online payments and customer cheques received.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain sundry sales ledger.
