Job summary

Home Group in Newcastle is seeking a Senior Asset Manager to lead strategic asset management across a regional portfolio of residential properties. The role is a temporary, full-time contract with flexible hybrid working from our Newcastle office and across the portfolio.

You’ll monitor asset performance against safety, quality and sustainability standards, advise on landlord and tenant matters, and collaborate with Regional Directors to implement the asset strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in property asset management across residential tenures and property types.
• Strong understanding of property litigation, covenants and lease terms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• MTPI/Associate RICS desirable or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Asset management of a regional portfolio of freehold and leasehold residential properties.
• Monitor and enhance asset performance using financial, operational, health and safety, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Address strategic asset matters, including investment and divestment, with the asset team.
• Provide expert advice on landlord and tenant issues, ensuring compliance with covenants and terms.
• Collaborate with Regional Directors and their teams to implement asset strategy and plans.
• Prepare and present monthly management reports to support decision-making and risk management.

What You’ll Do

• Asset management of a regional portfolio of freehold and leasehold residential properties, ensuring they meet safety, satisfaction, and sustainability standards.


• Monitor and enhance asset performance through financial, operational, health and safety, and customer satisfaction metrics.


• Address strategic asset matters, including investment and divestment, with the support of the wider asset team.


• Provide expert advice on landlord and tenant issues, ensuring compliance with legal terms and covenants.


• Collaborate with Regional Directors and their operational teams to effectively implement the asset management strategy and regional asset plans.


• Prepare and present concise monthly management reports to support decision-making and risk management.

You have

• Proven experience in property asset management across various residential tenures and property types.


• Strong understanding of property litigation, including interpreting and enforcing covenants and lease terms.


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with customers and stakeholders.


• Membership of The Property Institute (MTPI) and/or Associate RICS, or equivalent qualifications are desirable.


• Proactive problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding solutions and improving processes.


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team, fostering great relationships to achieve common goals.

The practical bits

• Temporary (12 months), full time (37.5 hpw) Monday to Friday. You’ll manage your own diary.


• Flexible hybrid working, based at our Newcastle office, from home and across our property portfolio.
