ALM Hedging Manager – Salary is competitive

Location – York or Bristol

The ALM & Hedging Technical Shared Services team is the centre of excellence for Asset Liability Management in the Aviva Group.

The team is responsible for Asset Liability and Hedging Management across the UK Life, UK GI, Ireland and Group Centre businesses, covering a diverse range of With-Profits funds, Matching Adjustment Portfolio (‘MAP’) annuity funds, and other non-profit funds.

A bit about the job:

The role involves producing, managing, and delivering ALM and Hedging insights across the businesses. The main responsibility is to optimise the balance sheet while controlling risk for the associated businesses.

The role holder will support activities such as:

1. Development and implementation of asset allocation strategies (SAA) across the Group, including With-Profits funds, to operate at the efficient frontier of risk/reward and optimize outcomes for customers.
2. Development and management of hedging strategies.
3. Understanding and managing market risks with robust processes.
4. Supporting capital management initiatives through ALM solutions.
5. Providing management information for forums and committees on asset allocation, hedging, and investment activities.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Good relationship management skills and comfort with SMART working.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to work across teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexibly, proactively, and to prioritize tasks.
• Strong understanding of the Solvency II balance sheet, its components, and stress behaviors.
• Analytical skills with IT proficiency (Excel, VBA, Power-query, Python, R).
• Interest or understanding of financial markets and investment options for insurers.
