Job summary

Tata Steel UK Limited is seeking an Asset Integrity and Reliability Engineer in Shotton, UK. You will lead reliability improvements to lift asset availability, reduce downtime, and protect product quality for blue‑chip customers.

The role combines planning, data-driven maintenance, and close collaboration with Operations. You will develop maintenance plans, coordinate outages, and drive condition monitoring initiatives, while strengthening spare parts strategy and supporting capex decisions.

Qualifications

• HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in a high-volume or process environment.
• Proven use of reliability tools and methods.
• Strong planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver risk-based, preventative maintenance plans to cut unplanned downtime.
• Complete structured asset surveys covering condition, obsolescence and criticality, and translate findings into an Asset Risk Register with improvement plans.
• Plan and coordinate line outages with Operations and Planning to clear work safely, on-time and to budget.
• Implement and develop condition monitoring on critical plant (e.g., vibration, thermography, lubrication).
• Strengthen spare parts strategy by defining critical spares and cleaning data; optimise holding value.
• Support capex and operational improvements with clear business cases, scope and acceptance criteria.
• Coach operators in basic care and autonomous maintenance to build ownership at the line.
• Uphold Tata Steel health, safety, quality and environmental standards across activities and contractors.
