Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Asset Engineer Structures (R&E) based in London Blackfriars. You will determine renewal requirements, develop renewal and enhancement schemes, and write specifications to meet policy standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, risk assessments, route planning support, and ensuring accurate records. You will work with asset management and project teams to optimise railway infrastructure and deliver safe, compliant projects.

Qualifications

• Substantial relevant experience in structures or civil engineering.
• Knowledge of Structures Assessment.
• An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
• Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prioritise renewal proposals for inclusion in the Structures (R&E) engineering workbank.
• Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments to support schemes and business cases.
• Develop renewal and enhancement schemes to meet Network Rail's goals before handover to delivery.
• Specify acceptance criteria for Structures (R&E) works and audit acceptance processes.
• Review proposals with asset management and project teams to optimise activity.
• Ensure records reflect current as-built status and asset history.
• Carry out asset condition inspections informing the renewal work bank.
