Network Rail is seeking a Geotechnical R&E Engineer for the Anglia route to advance renewal schemes on earthwork assets (Embankments, Soil Cuttings, Rock Cuttings). You will influence CAPEX planning, draft specifications, and work with delivery teams to meet safety, scope and budget targets.
You will contribute to asset data quality, participate in investigations, and support national program verification, while promoting safety and effective stakeholder engagement.

The R&E (Renewals and Enhancements) team sits under the DEAM organisation in Eastern Region. The R&E team is responsible for major schemes and renewal projects on assets within the B&C portfolio, As a Geotechnical R&E engineer, your role would primarily be focused on progressing renewal schemes for the three earthwork assets - Embankments, Soil Cuttings and Rock Cuttings. The R&E team support the asset maintainers and delivery units in prioritising renewals, briefing financial and department leads, and providing technical expertise to ensure schemes are delivered safely, smoothly and within budget. This role is for Anglia route only.
In the Asset Engineer (R&E) role, you will determine renewal requirements to support the ongoing management of Geotechnical assets through proactive engineering renewal and enhancement project delivery. Plan and Sponsor the CAPEX workbank in line with asset policy, operational requirements and stakeholder needs. Produce specifications and acceptance criteria for Geotechnical engineering works to achieve the required scope and quality in accordance with company engineering policies. Support prioritisation of the portfolio based on asset risks and needs, balanced against available funding.

Salary: £43,588 to £53,167 per annum (plus an Inner London allowance of £3,270 per annum).
