Job summary

SSE plc in the UK is seeking an Asset Analyst to maximise the performance and reliability of its electricity network, delivering actionable insights to support investment decisions.

You will lead on forecasts, dashboards and analytical models, collaborating with stakeholders while ensuring robust data governance. Base locations include Glasgow, Perth or Reading with flexible First options and 50% site presence.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM subject with significant asset management experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Python, SQL and data viz tools.
• Knowledge of CNAIM and NARM methodologies for asset risk and investment decisions.
• Experience with SAP, Maximo, ArcGIS or equivalent enterprise systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement with a collaborative mindset.

Base Location: Glasgow, Perth or Reading. You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of these locations.

Salary: £50,964 - £60,899 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Join our Asset Analysis Team as an Asset Analyst and play a pivotal role in maximising the performance and reliability of our electricity network. You'll lead on delivering actionable insights, shaping investment decisions, and supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.

You Will

• Deliver Network Asset Risk Metric (NARM) regulatory reporting, analysis and asset performance insights to support evidence-based asset management decisions and investment planning.
• Develop forecasts, scenario analysis and analytical models to identify asset risks, opportunities and emerging trends across the network.
• Support the development of long-term asset strategies and intervention plans that balance risk, cost, performance and customer outcomes.
• Produce and continuously improve dashboards, reporting processes and data visualisation solutions to meet business, policy and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships, communicating complex technical findings clearly to support decision-making across the business.

You Have

• A degree (Bachelors/Masters/PhD) in a STEM subject and significant experience in asset management, infrastructure or a regulated utility environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using Python, SQL and data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of CNAIM and NARM methodologies, and how they support asset risk management, regulatory performance and investment decisions.
• Experience of enterprise asset and operational systems such as SAP, Maximo, ArcGIS or equivalent platforms, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insight.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a collaborative, proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
