Job summary

Exeter College is seeking a motivated Motor Vehicle Assessor to join our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle team in Barnstaple. You will visit workplaces, support apprentices and learners, and assess practical skills to help learners gain confidence and qualifications.

You’ll build strong employer partnerships, arrange workplace assessments, and coach learners toward success, using OneFile and other digital tools.

• Background in Motor Vehicle or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring or training.
• Holds an assessor qualification or is willing to work towards one.
• Natural communicator who enjoys building relationships.
• Can work independently while being a great team player.

Job Description and Person Specification

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Motor Vehicle Assessor to join our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle team, if you've got industry experience, enjoy working with people, and want to help the next generation of technicians, mechanics, and automotive professionals thrive, this could be the perfect role for you.

This isn't your typical workshop role.

One day you'll be visiting employers, supporting apprentices and learners in the workplace. The next, you'll be assessing practical skills, developing industry partnerships, and helping learners gain the confidence and experience they need to launch successful careers.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Motor Vehicle Assessor, you'll:

Bonus Points If You Have

• Previous assessing experience
• Experience working with apprentices or work placements
• Two years' post-qualification experience
• A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
