Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced assembler for nacelle components in a high-precision aerospace environment in Burnley, BB10. You will follow technical instructions, drill, rivet, and torque to exact specs, ensuring traceability and quality at every step.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to demanding assembly programmes while adhering to HSE standards. A time-served aerospace or engineering apprenticeship is essential, with strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Time-served aerospace or engineering apprenticeship completed.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.
  • Experience in aircraft fitting, assembly and fastening.

Responsibilities

  • Fit and assemble nacelle components per technical instructions.
  • Drill, countersink, rivet, fasten and torques per design standards.
  • Handle and position components safely onto tooling and workstations.
  • Complete self-inspection and ensure quality standards.
  • Record traceability data via batch cards and production documents.
  • Identify and report non-conformances during assembly.
  • Ensure correct use and validity of tooling, fixtures and materials.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S in the work area.
  • Comply with HSE and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production.

Job description

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing aerospace environment, working on nacelle structures and components. You will play a key role in the precision assembly and fitting of aircraft structures, contributing to a programme that demands the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. Now introducing an additional travel assistance scheme for candidates who are non-local from site. You will receive up to £200 per week in expenses to help with any travel and accommodation costs if you live 39 miles away or further. This policy will be reviewed on the 1st February 2027.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fit and assemble nacelle components and sub-assemblies in line with technical instructions and specifications
  • Carry out drilling, countersinking, riveting, fastening, and torquing to design standards
  • Handle and position components safely onto tooling and workstations
  • Complete self-inspection and ensure all work meets required quality standards
  • Record traceability data via batch cards and production documentation
  • Identify and report non-conformances during assembly operations
  • Ensure correct use and validity of tooling, fixtures, and materials
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S within the work area
  • Comply fully with all HSE and quality procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment
Requirements
  • Time-served aerospace or engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Self-inspection approval (desirable)
  • Strong experience in aircraft fitting, assembly, and fastening techniques
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of composite materials and assembly processes
  • Experience using hand tools and measurement equipment
  • Strong understanding of HSE and quality standards
